The RPG Collection

One of the most prestigious art schools in the country, founded in 1903 and located outside Boston. The students here are the elite: the best at whatever they do, be it dance, drama, music, visual art, or fashion. The atmosphere is competitive: students are encouraged to do their best but also to beat others. And everyone is ambitious: they know there are only so many roles in a play, so many musicians in a band or orchestra. And there is only ever one lead. Threatened with the closing of the school, these students will do anything to keep it open. Friendship means nothing when your future is at stake. Weatherfield may be an arts school, but it is still a high school - and this is what high school is about. Competition, drama, gossip, it's all here, but added is that desire to be the best.

10.16.08 The skin is complete [obviously]! Now, all we need are some active, contributing members ^^ ~tris.

08.31.08 I'm now playing with codes. Apologies for any weirdness, and there's sure to be some ^^ ~ tris.

04.30.08 Thinking about new features on the site. If anyone has ideas feel free to PM an admin. On the subject, how would adding an MP3 player go down with everyone? I'd need suggestions for the playlist though! There's a thread for such suggestions on the announcements board, please think about contributing. -Ted

04.23.08 Just doing a little experimenting with the coding so apologies if in the next few days the layout is a bit squiffy... I'm not know for my coding skills. If anyone has any ideas for new sections of layouts or just general around-the-site-ness feel free to drop myself or Tris a note. -Ted

03.09.08 New members need to do dorm signups, face claim (if applicable) and plottage threads if they haven't yet. Links are below in quick links. If you have any questions or don't understand something, PM an admin (Tris=silentreflection Ted=corruzione) ~ tris.

02.27.08: I know it's a little late to be saying this but if all members could post in the activity check that would be great. And please, get advertising, invite your friends to join, blackmail a few people - WE NEED MEMBERS! - Ted

12.08.07: As you can see, we have a new skin. More appearance changes to come, possibly.

11.05.07: Aaand.... we're reopen for business! That's right, the new plot is released, the boards have been modified, and we are ready for members to start joining. So get out there and... join. Yeah.

Dear Students;

Just a quick update on the continuing developments of the current building project taking place within the school. As you know, the initial grant approved for the total costings of carrying out the project - though generous in nature - will not cover the final cost now quoted, which had caused some dilemna over the school's future.
I wish to inform each one of you that the solution to this problem and our future here at Wetherfield is in, what I deem, perfectly capable hands: yours.
Between myself and the faculty, we have decided that student run initiatives will be the best way to publisize our plight and raise the needed funding. Each of our five departments (art, Dance, Drama, Fashion and Music) will be challenged to raise the most money that they can, pushing themselves to their limits.
Incentive, beyond the academy remaining open, to acheive this goal will be put in place - the department which raises the most money shall have the building dedicated to themselves and receive choice of the new facilities.

Thank you and to your marks;
- Dr. K. M. Saxenhammer.

So amongst the already competitive departments a further stone was dropped, creating ripples and waves of old rivalries and past feuds.
To the majority of the students this competition - for though the staff avoided the word itself, clearly it was - conjured ideas of opportunity and prestige for their chosen discipline, each more than happy to prove their worth and forge rivalries with the other departments. A select few, however, could have imagined nothing worse, a wedge driven between their already strained inter-departmental friends and their loyalties to their peers. Others still found no interest in the competition - what did a few new classrooms matter to them? - continuing student life the only way they knew how.
Unsurprisingly, sabotage was a much bandied word: what have Music got planned? Who's endorsing Art's fundraiser? Drama are going where? When are fashion thinking of that? How can dance pull that off?
The departments were united in one aspect though:
"YEAH? WELL WE'LL JUST HAVE TO STOP THEM!"

Fights, both verbal and physical, broke out. They always do when students are pitted against each other. And the traditional form of punishment for this was detention - two weeks of performing services for teachers, generally from 4:00pm to 5:00 pm.

Nine students from five majors + inter-departmental competition + detention + teacher = chaos

So one would expect such things to go, and so they did go - Alexia Davidson, Isabelle Vittera, Vincent McCarthy, Kiara Brownlee, Michael Swann, Jennifer Dawson, Richard Gardiner, Alanna Dietrich, and Danielle Calvin did not get along. Detentions were suffered out in silence for the first few days, Kiara and Michael's constant chatter being the only interraction which took place. By the fifth day, however, they had to talk, and all were amazed to find that the others were much more likable than expected - they weren't just trying to find out other departments' secrets. The students were horrified to discover that they had begun to bond.

Such an experience would not be complete without some sort of love relationship, although this one was not exactly ordinary: Isabelle Vittera, drama student and homosexual, and Alexia Davidson, fashion major and bisexual, fell for each other. High school relationships are never so simple, of course. Vincent McCarthy, music student, watched their relationship with jealousy, for he found Isabelle quite attractive. He was popular, and aside from her sexuality there should be no reason why she wouldn't go out with him. Unfortunately for him, one reason was enough. Unfortunately for Alexia, her swift and reckless involvement in one relationship committed her for some time at least, even though she found herself admiring Vincent. It didn't help that he wasn't interested in her. Alexia's friends encouraged her to spy on Isabelle, to use her less desirable relationship to her advantage. Fashion could gain the upper hand over drama, and they knew they needed it. Isabelle, likewise, was encouraged to report on the fashion students, and to use Vincent's interest to her advantage. None of the three were happy, and none could be until this fundraiser was over: the increased tension between departments did not allow relationships, even if the open and accepting attitudes of art students did. The other detention students also regretted having to separate themselves from their friends. Their only choice was to let life play itself out.
